Classes are as follows:

Drama & Masks:  
Making a Magical Nighttime Performance 
We’ll create a play together with the intention to put on a surprising and exciting performance at night for our friends and family.  Each person will get to do the things they like best.  Do you like to create the story?  Act it out?  Sing?  Be a clown?  Make masks and costumes?  Do you like to decorate rooms and forts?  There’s something for everyone and we’ll work together to make a really fun night for everyone.

The first class ends with a performance or scene on school grounds Halloween night.  Students will keep costumes.

Ages 8 to 11
Thursdays from 4:00 to 5:15 PM
Session 1:  October 9 to Halloween (last class is a Fri.)
Session 2:  November 6 to November 27
Cost:  $100 + $10 material fee

Fairies and Princesses 
Once upon a time, there was a world where little houses were filled with tiny teacups and crowns sparkled with sequins and ribbons.  We’ll read, sing, make costumes, fairy houses and maybe a performance.  The sky is simply the beginning!  Students will keep crowns.

Ages 6 to 9
Tuesday Class from 4:00 to 5:15 PM

Session 2:  October 21 to November 18

Wednesday Class from 4:00 to 5:15 PM
Session 1:  September 17 to October 15
Cost:  $125 + a $10 materials fee.

Dragons 
These creatures are a great motif for early fall with their fiery dispostions requiring something from us to help them move into the colder months.  We will begin creating with wet on wet watercolor painting, using high quality materials to explore color and form.

We’ll build a threatrical production using “St. George and the Dragon” as the premise.  Either creating puppets out of felt and/or paper mache or working on a large version of a dragon with painted silk, backdrops can be painted and the story learned for a finale presented to parents and friends.

Lanterns 
Sharing the light of our creative selves with others forms a seed of inner happiness.  We will begin by carving jack-o-lanterns to bring home to our families.  In the following weeks we will create lanterns from beeswax and from pounded tin.  We will explore Asian lantern-making out of paper and silk.  We will invite friends and family to our Lantern Walk celebration after our last class!
